TSA Frontiers Server

Our latest modpack focused on grand terrain generation along with beautiful shaders, exploring wild new lands with a mix of old and new tech.

Server release: Friday 28th November - 8PM

Features:

  • Vast uncharted landscapes - Discover the new unique terrain on the frontiers, colossal mountains, vast deserts, steep mesa, volcanoes, and hundreds of new biomes (Terralith, Tectonic)
  • Tech, cooking, and magic returns - All the favorites return, Create and Ars Nouveau are back, but this time joined by Mekanism again. Plus a significant number of updates and new small mods we haven’t used before, and not to forget the crops and food of Farmer’s Delight.
  • Wild creatures - Find new wildlife and mythical creatures scattered around, including the return of dragons! Along with many more unique animals that we haven’t played with before (Ice and Fire, Critters and Companions, Wilder Nature)
  • Immersive atmosphere - Lose yourself in beautifully shaded landscapes that stretch as far as the eye can see, hearing new sounds, and finding something new in everything. (Distant Horizons, Ambient Sounds, Complementary Shaders, Euphoria Patches, Fresh Animations, Sounds)
  • Dungeons, ruins, and outposts - Let the occasional lighthouse guide you to land, then bring others to take on the gigantic new dungeons with dark souls style bosses (L_Enders Cataclysm, YUNGs, Towns and Towers)
  • Different dimensions - Stumble upon a newly overhauled nether and end, different than before with many diverse biomes. (Incendium, Nullscape)

Server Goal - Adopt a Factory:

Unlike the previous large server where the goal was massive biome builds with factories established naturally to meet the builders needs, this server is reversed. Now the goal is to focus on establishing a large network of train interconnected factories and let towns/other builds spring up naturally based on the resources they provide, think OpenTTD but in Minecraft. Everyone can help choose any number of factories they’d like to be involved in building up collaboratively:

  • Explorers will be needed to discover build sites, scout for resources, and find the best routes for train tracks between factories.
  • Builders can make sure factories have form as well as function, helping build up each into more than just a collection or machines, or working on beautiful towns to return to after a long shift in the factories.
  • Wizards could bring some magical enhancements to other factories, build up their own mystical industries connected to the same train networks.
  • Engineers will be essential to maintaining the complex machinery for all industries and keeping the critical train resource network running.

Each factory should be focused on one or two purposes and be made to supply or receive goods from any number of others, no large multipurpose factories allowed. All factories must also be kept far separate from residential areas. No bulk item teleportation is allowed, all items must be transported by train.

Rules & Notes

  • Collaborative Focus - The new frontiers are a dangerous and wild place, while there are no rules on grouping/living centrally the aim is to work together to have any chance of surviving (we are playing on Hard difficulty, along with many dangerous mobs).
  • Zoning Laws - Industrial districts (Factories) must not be built close to residential districts (our homes/towns, defined as anywhere with beds, intended for living, or for normal crafting outside of a production line). At least a decent train ride away, preferably obscured behind an obstacle like a mountain and always outside render distance. Large agricultural districts should also be kept separate.
  • Kill Switch - All factories must be built with an emergency kill switch to completely shutdown all operations, and should make use of this to automatically to halt all production when supply quotas are met.
  • No Mass Item Teleportation - Item teleportation is banned, it must be done via trains! Player teleportation is allowed late game.

Mod List

While focused around a core of familiar stable mods (Create, Mekanism, and Ars Noveau) this modpack has some of the most ambitious addons yet like Distant Horizons, extreme terrain generation mods such as Tectonic/Terralith, and many others.

Modpack Update - Version 1.1

Mostly a hotfix for the issue making Create blocks appear transparent with shaders, but also added the camera mod (Exposure) early so we can start capturing more pictures of different areas in game. Also some bins.

Modpack Update - Version 2

The age of flight is upon us! This update adds some basic aircraft and the possibility for more advanced ones in the future if we keep building up our industries. Along with a handful of other nice mods.

Modpack Update - Version 3

This update brings us new technology in to fight the growing dragon menace: WW2 fighter aircraft, as well as support for VR headsets (maybe even flying a spitfire in VR?), plus a bunch of other nice utility mods.


Fighter aircraft are not available initially until we can build an airfield for them.

Modpack Update - Version 5.1

This update adds Create: Diesel Generators so the race to find oil and become an oil baron is now on! A couple of new food expansions have been added for the ocean and the end (once we go there together), as well as several CC and performance mods. There are also now basic quarries which will be balanced as we go, but primarily provide a less laggy/less powerful alternative to Create quarries and the still disabled Digiminer.
