Games to get for the Steam Summer Sale

What it says on the tin for the SSS 13/6/2015
What Games, Why?
Is it a daily or a flashdeal? If not we should probably wait until the last day to buy.

Suggestion from me:
Don’t Starve (Together) : Great survival, MP ~£1 on daily deal
Duck Game : Need to wait, but looks like amazing MP fun!! Quack button, TB has a review on Youtube
Mount and Blade: Not really a multiplayer game but is still amazing have to recommend
Civ, Beyond Earth?

Indeed, the Steam sale is upon us.

My recommendations:

  • Cities: Skylines - Not a game that I’ve played yet but a game that I
have heard very positive things about. It’s the great city building
game that the last Sim City should have been.
  • Tabletop Simulator - A game which literally simulates a table,
perfect for D&D and any other tabletop games we can think of. I
highly recommend people purchase this for when we do start our D&D
campaign and so that we can have the chance to play some other great
    tabletop games, like this one:
  • Sid Meier’s Civilization: Beyond Earth - To be entirely honest right
now this game is not very good, it’s a bit like Civ 5 pre-BNW +
pre-GAK. I do however have faith that the expansions will fix this
and recommend that people purchase the game in preparation for that.
  • Prison Architect - If you like the management sim genre then Prison
Architect is the best one out there, it’s still in alpha but is
    extremely stable and feature rich.
  • Space Engineers - A lot like the free StarMade but focused more on
realism especially in terms of physics (with added meteor showers for
good luck). Extremely fun to play with friends and with lots of
    positive reviews on Steam.
  • Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion - One of the best multiplayer 4X
real time strategy games out there. Just the mods are reason enough
    to buy this game
    (Star Trek!)
and The Sentinel Alliance really do need at least one 4X space
    strategy game to play together.
  • Pillars of Eternity - Not a multiplayer game but one of my personal
favorites. If your into the old school Baulder’s Gate/D&D style RPGs
where you can spend hours getting immersed in the lore and
investigating everything at every opportunity then this game is
    perfect for you.
  • Dawn of War: Soulstorm - Absolutely one of the best strategy games
out there, a classic only made better by the
    mods. If
you even have a slight interest in the world of Warhammer 40K you
    will love this game.
